Sometimes it happens we have to insert a relay, a switch or multiple switches in an electronic circuit. Depending on the needs, we may need one or more incoming signal routes and one or more outgoing contacts.

The image above collects all the most used combinations and shows us quickly which device we need to use in our system.

The acronyms obviously have a precise meaning. For example:

  • SPST = Single Pole Single Through
  • SPDT = Single Pole Double Through
  • DP3T = Double Pole Triple Through
  • NO = Normally Open
  • NC = Normally Closed
